I used a tachometer to install on a lathe, tested its operation on an improvised stand using a 12-volt power supply from an LED strip to power the tachometer.

Tach is clear and bright, and reasonably accurate… a lot more accurate than i expected from such an inexpensive tach.
Now the down side, the reaction is fairly slow. It can take up to 3 or 4 seconde to register a change, which is annoying. Also, when the spindle is not rotating, the tach reads llll (for ‘low’) but i would much rather have it just read ‘0’
All in al though, its pretty good and i’d buy it again
