If you live in a hot sunny environment, the sun alone is going to destroy the solar panel because of the poor material and construction.
The battery in the unit is not user replaceable and is rated for 500mah. The solar panel & light unit window are both made of glass which is good, but the solar panel is not well protected and fragile. The panel’s open circuit voltage is ~6.6v and the short circuit current is ~350 ma. Power draw by the led array at full brightness is ~.093 mw.
The internal module is really nice and can be modified in various ways. The remote is responsive, has several nice features and includes a coin cell battery.
I would be happy to buy the internal module with remote and the solar panel separately for diy projects.
