No issues at all, works great when used with a component cable connection. Shipping was very fast compared to how it used to be years ago. Can recommend to anyone looking to get a better experience playing ps2 or other consoles on a modern tv, much better to get this rather than spend several hundred on the other tech most people recommend, looks and plays about the same. One thing to keep in mind is when using the 2x and fil settings (especially on oled or ultra hd tvs) screen retention and possible burn in happens very quickly, left my tv on during a pause screen for about 30 minutes and caused bad retention on my screen for about 20 minutes until the tv refreshed itself, to be safe i recommend playing without these settings enabled especially if you have an expensive tv. However for the price and the performance of this device i highly recommend it!

This thing is fantastic. Has a smoothing filter that is subtle but effective. Might need to adjust your screen colors to your liking, but as far as retro scalers go, this is 3x the value for the money spent. I just ordered a second one for my upstairs tv.

I bought the retroscaler2x hoping it would make my retro consoles look a little less like they were broadcasting from a potato, and honestly… this thing delivered. Plugged in my ps2, gamecube, and n64 and suddenly everything looked like they took a shower, got a job, and got their life together. No complicated setup, no app, no drama — just pure, instant video glow-up. The build quality is way better than i expected for temu, and it even comes in a case that makes me feel like i’m carrying classified government hardware. The colors are cleaner, the lag is basically nonexistent, and it handled every console i threw at it like a champ. If you love retro gaming or just want your old consoles to stop looking like they’re rebuilding themselves pixel by pixel, this is a must-have. Worth every penny.

Very impressed with this little box, so far it has been great. I’ve used an s-video cable to connect both my n64 and my super nintendo to this, then via the hdmi out to my samsung flat screen. I set the aspect ratio to 4:3 on my tv, and used the 2x mode and the fil setting (the blue light is on when you turn it on), and wow both of these consoles look great. Definitely a huge improvement over using those cheap av to hdmi converters. This really does make the picture much better.

This works fantastic! I’ve used on my nintendo 64 and dreamcast since they both have s-video connections only (though the dreamcast has vga with really odd resolution issues and compatibility). First up – no input lag. I’m heavy into fighting games. Street fighter, capcom vs. snk, marvel vs. capcom…they all play perfect here. No setting differences caused input lag either, so great news there.
For an older system like the n64, you’re not going to get crystal clear quality. It’s a blurry system by default. That said, i used the “s-video” and “2x” settings on my retroscaler device and that was the best combination. For the dreamcast, i found the “2x” setting caused a slight vibration look as it’s inducing extra scan lines to make a 480p image.
You will get feedback/crosshatch issues if you plug in both the composite (yellow) and s-video. Pick one. S-video is better and will show the pixels a bit more clearly. Outputs as 480p, use your tv to set 4:3 or widescreen.

Product arrived safe and sound. Nice packaging and manual. It cleaned up the image nicely for n64 and dreamcast via s-video. More so dreamcast, specifically on passthrough mode since s-video doesn’t do 480p if i recall. In any case, well worth the $41. Wayyy better and cheaper than getting an hdmi adapter for consoles individually and a good first step into the world of video scalers. Thanks!

Great retrotink2x clone with nice upgrades. This retroscaler2x has a full sized hdmi port vs retrotink’s mini hdmi port. Restroscaler2x also has an on/off switch which is great! Perfect for your consoles with composite, s-video or component outputs line doubled to your tv. You can also set the retroscaler to passthrough mode and your tv will upscale the display for you.

Outstanding value- finding a true scaler such as this that will take a real component video or s video (or even crappy composite video) signal and make it look so much better for under $50 is pretty unheard of. I’ll admit, at first because of the price i thought it was going to be a cheap piece of crap. But to my surprise, this thing works so well that i’ve bought 4 more of them. Now, each and every one of my consoles has a retroscaler2x that it hooks into. Do yourself a favor and buy real, high-quality s-video cables and component cables. Don’t cheap out on the cables, and you’ll truly see a huge difference in picture quality. I use insurrection industries s video cable, and hd retrovision component cables. Even my sega genesis looks absolutely gorgeous (something i never thought possible), because i plug it into this retroscaler2x and an hd retrovision component cable. If you’re looking for a way to enhance that picture quality, do yourself a favor and buy one of these!

I was doubtful at first, but i’m very impressed with the quality of this upscaler. All of my composite games look just as good, if not better, than they do on my crt. The picture is crisp and sharp.
I’m someone who’s pretty sensitive to input lag, but this is really quick, especially compared to my old adapter.
This is a great entry-level upscaler if you don’t want to shell out hundreds for a name-brand.

I am so happy and impressed with this item, that i have purchased 7 of them and i use them all. i have a large collection of retro game consoles that i keep connected to one television, and i don’t want to have to unplug them and plug them in all the time. every single one of these retroscaler2x boxes has worked perfectly right out of the box. the shipping has been fantastic, very fast and none of the packages have arrived with damage. i have used these boxes with composite, s-video, and component cables. most recently i have switched to using the hd retrovision cables for ps2, genesis, and super nintendo, all using the retroscaler2x’s and the results are beautiful.
