The Stirling engine is a collector's physics model designed to demonstrate the operating principle of a hot air engine at home, in the classroom, or in a science museum. This Stirling engine converts the heat from a spirit lamp into mechanical energy, which rotates the flywheel and visually reveals the laws of thermodynamics. A great gift for curious children, students, and technology enthusiasts.
This Stirling engine is suitable for teachers, students, and technology enthusiasts who want to visually demonstrate the principles of thermodynamics. Before use, check that the flywheel rotates freely and that the moving parts are clean. Fill the lamp with alcohol, light it in front of the test tube, and after a minute, turn the flywheel by hand - the engine will start to rotate on its own. Be careful, as the metal parts get hot.
Q: How to start the Stirling engine for the first time?
Turn the flywheel manually, check that the parts are clean, fill the lamp with alcohol up to 2/3 of its capacity, light it, and after a minute, turn the flywheel - the engine will start to rotate on its own.
Q: What fuel is required for the engine to operate?
95% or higher concentration flammable alcohol is required. The buyer must purchase it separately, as it is not included in the package. Fill the lamp carefully, without exceeding two-thirds of its capacity.
Q: Is it safe to touch the engine while it is running?
No, you should not touch the heated test tube or the metal parts connected to it - they get very hot and you could get burned. It is recommended to wait until the parts cool down.
This Stirling engine is an excellent investment in practical physics knowledge at home, in school, or in a collection. It is ideal for gifts and science demonstrations.

Love it! It is a basic set, but with some modifications i will be able to generate enough steady power to charge a device. As far as science toys go, this one is better than most. It comes fully assembled and well packaged. Only holds small amount of fuel, so run time is short – making it safer. Perfect for teenagers and adults.

I’ve just unboxed this one and it’s exactly what i expected, it’s made out of pretty sturdy feeling metal and comes with a little glass jar and wick which your supposed to pour 95% alcohol into. I haven’t tested it properly yet but it has a little led that lights up when you spin the motor and a usb port (not quite sure what that one’s for, it comes with a little usb light looking thing as well so maybe you can power things from it?)

I love this. it works well and looks beautiful. it would be better, though also more expensive, if it had ball bearings as there’s enough play in some joints to generate some noise. overall, it’s great though.
